THE PROBLEM
Giga Chew’s email list was getting opens (around 30%) but emails were landing in promo folders. The popup was leaking subscribers, and revenue from email was essentially flat. They had traffic and a product people were willing to buy. The emails just weren’t converting it. Main revenue came from front end.
THE SOLUTION (WHAT WE DID)
We rebuilt the email infrastructure from the ground up. We A/B tested popups with a new offer (and better ways of framing it) until CVR held above 20%. We built out 10+ flows (welcome, browse abandon, post-purchase, etc). We segmented the list down so emails started landing in primary inboxes instead of promo, and worked our way up until larger segments attributed higher open rates. We introduced modern design to what was a text heavy campaign system. Every email combined creativity, shock value & sound structure, without using a single discount to maintain profit margins. We aimed for 16 campaigns per month, totaling 49 emails inc flows in month 1.
FIRST WEEK'S RESULTS
+227% email revenue (was flat the previous period)
21.5% email submit rate (was 12.4% on the old popup)
53% open rates across all emails (was 31%)
34% revenue coming from email (was 11%)
6x the revenue of their entire old welcome flow (in one week)
80% open rates on some marketing emails
$77 average order value
and again this is just 1 week, results are still rising.
